Evaluate ST's
solution for LED street lighting

STLUX385A
discloses new possibilities for high-power LED applications, paving
the way to the smart cities.
The STEVAL385LEDPSR demonstration board, based on STLUX385A, enables
customers to rapidly develop digital power controllers for 100W LED
lamps. The solution reaches a 92% efficiency at full load while
maintaining a <200mW standby consumption. The high precision
dimming is adjusted using a primary side regulation (PSR) control
technique. STEVAL385LEDPSR provides physical communication interfaces
such as a DALI, isolated 0-10, UART and can be easily fit with
Wi-Fi, powerline modems, Bluetooth® and ZigBee® interfaces driven by
STLUX385A. More

LED driver
with high dimming capability supports multiple topologies
|
The LED5000 is a monolithic
buck constant-current switching regulator specifically designed to
drive long LED strings. It operates with an input voltage range from
5.5 to 48 V, providing an output current up to 3 A, with a very low
feedback voltage (200 mV). It embeds high-performance PWM circuitry
to control LED brightness. Other topologies may be implemented, such
as buck-boost (positive or negative) or floating boost, giving a high
degree of design flexibility. More

New 1200 V
SiC diodes change the deal in solar inverter rectification
|
ST’s new 1200 V SiC diode
range starts with a 6-amp device with best-in-class switching
performance combined with a low VF. The STPSC6H12B is perfect for use
in photovoltaic inverters and in all high-voltage, high-power
applications requiring negligible switching losses. Able to work at
several hundreds of kHz over its full operating junction temperature
range, it can improve the overall application efficiency by as much
as to 2%. Packaged in a high-voltage 2-lead DPAK, it meets both IEC
60664 and UL840 standards. More

New ultrafast
600 V Tandem rectifiers improve PFC performance with minimal cost
overhead
|
With
ultralow switching losses, ST’s second generation of Tandem diodes is
ideal for circuits operating in continuous-conduction mode. Their
VF/QRR trade-off positions these rectifiers between standard
ultrafast and silicon-carbide diodes with regards to price and
performance. They offer the best, high-efficiency alternative, with a
cost approximately 30% lower than a SiC component budget. Their high
EMI performance and robustness ease design and reduce the time to
market. More

4.2 W
non-isolated flyback converter based on the VIPer06HS
|
The
STEVAL-ISA113V1 demonstration board is a non-isolated flyback
converter that delivers up to 4.2 W over a wide input voltage range
(90 to 265 VRMS). The board generates a 12 V nominal output voltage
at 0.35 A continuous operation using direct feedback from the output.
The board is fully protected against overload, feedback
disconnection, and overheating, and is based on the VIPer06HS
monolithic converter. More
